134 including journos and police test COVID-19 positive in Parsa, Bara



BIRGUNJ: As many as 134 people including journalists and police have tested coronavirus positive in Parsa and Bara districts.

In the PCR tests carried out in the Birgunj-based Narayani Hospital Laboratory and Kavre’s Dhulikhel based PCR Laboratory, 134 people tested positive for coronavirus in the districts.

According to Dr. Niraj Singh at the Narayani Hospital, out of the new cases, 101 are males and 33 females aged between 7 to 80 years.

Among these new cases, 11 are from Bara and 123 from Parsa district.

Narayani Hospital source revealed that one of the new cases of Monday is a staffer from the Narayani Hospital.

The 31-year-old Managing Director of Sanvi FM also tested coronavirus positive.

Among other cases, there are a 22-year-old male receiving care at Narayani Hospital’s ICU, and two more patients in the same hospital.

According to Dr. Singh, there are 7 policemen from District Police Office Parsa and Ward Police Office Birta.

He further revealed that a 32-year-old doctor of Birgunj is also in the pandemic positive list.

Similarly, 18 people from different wards of Birgunj Metropolitan City and 25 from Parsa’s Bahudarmai Municipality have also tested positive.

In addition to it, 11 more people have tested positive from different parts of Bara district.
