NC senior leader Poudel urges cadres to discourage ‘groupism’

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has urged party cadres and supporters to refrain from ‘running behind’ a single leader.

Poudel said it is high time that cadres treaded on the path of party ideology and principles rather than becoming a leader’s follower.

Speaking at a program in the capital today, Poudel urged party cadres to work towards keeping the party unity intact rather than ‘praising or criticizing’ a leader.

By saying so, he was hinting at the ‘groupism’ within the party adding, “Refrain from saying Sher Bahadur Deuba or Ram Chandra Poudel, say Nepali Congress as a whole,” Poudel said.

He also asked party leaders to move ahead democratically and elect the party leadership in the party’s upcoming 14th general convention.
