Ambulance driver refusing to carry COVID-19 suspect arrested



DHADING: Police have arrested an ambulance driver who refused to carry a COVID-19 suspect.

A youth had tested positive during a rapid test carried out at a health center in Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-3, Maidi.

Then, the health center was preparing to take to an isolation center on an ambulance at the health center. But, the ambulance driver Kishan Shrestha went out of contact in the last minutes.

The youth was then forced to reach temporary isolation at Dhadingbesi, the district headquarters, on a motorcycle.

DSP Rupak Khadka, Spokesperson at District Police Office, Dhading confirmed that Shrestha was arrested.

The youth’s swab sample was sent to Kathmandu for a test through the Polymerase Chain Reaction method.

Information Officer at Dhading District Hospital Bikram BK said that the swab sample of the 27-year-old youth who had recently returned from South Korea tested negative for COVID-19.
