UK evacuates over 700 citizens from Nepal

KATHMANDU: The British Embassy in Kathmandu has conducted a third and a final chartered flight to evacuate its citizens from Nepal on Friday.

The Embassy stated it was extremely grateful to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for their help throughout and to Titan Airways.

British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt said that the Embassy could help over 700 people get home since 8 April.

“Some of our own families on board this last flight too – they’ll be coming back as soon as they can. The embassy will continue to provide consular support to Brits staying,” Ambassador Pollit said in a tweet.
