Two Indians held for carrying counterfeit currency sent to jail



HETAUDA: Two Indians arrested carrying banned Indian currency worth IRs 999 thousand rupees have been sent to Hetauda-based Bhimphedi jail.

Bijaya Chaudhary, 31, and Shankar Sarkar, 38, from Bairatpur and Naheti, India respectively were sent to jail when they failed to deposit Rs 1,700 thousand each for release till the court comes with final verdict.

After the preliminary hearing against them filed by Revenue Investigation Office Pathlaiya, Makawanpur District Court had sought Rs 1,700 thousand each as bail.

A team of police from Area Police Office Pashupatinagar under the command of Inspector Arun Kumar Kushbaha had found the illegal Indian currency in an Indian Bolero WB 23 E, 2333 and arrested Chaudhary the Bolero’s driver and Shankar while they were heading to Birgunj from Hetauda-15 Ratmate.

They were sent to Revenue Investigation Office Pathlaiya on allegation of carrying unlawful money. According to the police the money is said to have been from anonymous sources.
