Madhyapaschim University signs MoU with OERu

SURKHET: A memorandum of understanding has been reached between Madhyapaschim University and Open Educational Resources for Universities (OERu) on providing educational materials online.

Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh and representative of the OERu signed the MoU amid an event here.

OERu is a project of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and various universities and international organizations from 41 countries across the globe including 13 countries from Asia have been associated to the initiative.

In Nepal, Nepal Open University and Mid-Western University are the members of the OERu. The MoU has been reached under the OERu Outreach partnership program, it has been said.

The agreement has been a pivotal step in an educational sector not only being limited to the University level, said Associate Professor of the University, Pachadev Bhatta.

“With this project in effect, students, lecturers and professors can access educational materials and research reports online,” he said.

Established in 2010, total of 17 campuses across the country have been affiliated to Madhyapaschim University.
