659 undergo RDT for coronavirus in State 2



JANAKPURDHAM: A total of 659 people underwent the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) for coronavirus in State-2 as of now.

Among these, 657 have tested negative while two have tested positive, according to the State government’s Ministry of Social Development stated.

Secretary at the ministry, Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire, the RDT has been done on 161 suspected patients in Saptari, 49 in Bara, 50 in Siraha, 33 in Mahottari, 48 in Parsa, 57 in Sarlahi, 208 suspected and 18 in Dhanusha in Rautahat.

Likewise, 454 swab samples out of the 535 samples collected in the State have tested negative to the novel coronavirus.

The report of 77 people is awaited. Four people have been found infected with coronavirus in the State so far.

According to Ghimire, some 1,137 people are kept in quarantine, 1525 people are put under home quarantine and 12 people are kept in isolation in State-2.

The State government has designated the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital at Birgunj as the COVID-19 dedicated hospital.
