Ex-British Gurkha soldier dies of COVID-19



KATHMANDU: The novel coronavirus has claimed the lives of 13 Nepalis in Britain so far.

The latest victim is Dhanbir Thapamagar, 75, a former British Gurkha soldier from New Malden, London.

He had been admitted to the Kingston Hospital on Tuesday after suffering from fever and breathing difficulties.

He was kept on ventilator support, according to Bachaspati Regmi, President of Palpa District Society.

It has been said that Thapamagar had been taking medicines for hypertension and an ailment related to the urinary bladder for long.

Thapamagar had been staying with his wife in the United Kingdom since 2009.
