UNDP’s representative Labe calls on Speaker Sapkota



KATHMANDU: United Nations Development Program’s residential representative Ayshanie Medagangoda Labe today paid a courtesy call on House of Representatives Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.

During the meeting that took place at the Speaker’s office, the UN representative congratulated Sapkota on his election to the Speaker’s post, wishing him a successful tenure, said the Speaker’s Secretariat.

Speaker Sapkota recalling Nepal’s long cooperation with the UN since it became its member in 1955 thanked UN support to Nepal’s Constituent Assembly election for the Federal Parliament.

Stating that Nepal is receiving multi-dimensional assistance from the UN, he hoped for its continuous support in the days to come as well.

The UNDP representative apprised the Speaker of UN’s cooperation in 26 sectors, promising its continuous support in the future as well. She also hinted about the possibility of cooperation with Nepal in the climate change area.
