Mahara taken to Dillibazar Prison, to be released soon



KATHMANDU: Former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been taken to Dillibazar Prison for a process of getting released after he was acquitted of an attempt to rape charges.

He was taken to the jail after Kathmandu District Court pronounced him not guilty of the crime.

According to Dillibazar Prison Office, Mahara will be released soon after receiving a letter from the court.

Earlier, a single bench of Judge Amar Raj Poudel pronounced the former Speaker not guilty of attempting to rape an employee at Parliament Secretariat.
