Police rescue kidnapped man in Kathmandu, seven arrested

KATHMANDU: Police have rescued a man kidnapped from Tokha and arrested seven persons allegedly involved in the abduction.

Rambabu Shah of Tokha was taken hostage by a gang in a house in Lokanthali and a check for Rs 2.5 million was demanded for his release.

According to SSP Deepak Thapa, Chief Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD), Shah has now been rescued.

Thapa said, “We launched a search operation after his son informed us about the kidnapping. Seven persons have been arrested.”

He did not disclose the names of those arrested.
