75 Mushahar families making SOS call at border

RAJBIRAJ: Indian Border Security Force personnel have threatened to demolish the settlement of Nepalis at Chhinnamasta-3, Mansuki Tole, at the Nepal-India border provided the Nepalis living there did not evacuate the area.

According to Binod Sada, 60, of Chhinnamasta -3, Mansuki Tole, the Border Security Forces deployed on the next end of Indian side have been troubling the Musahars living in the Monsuki Tole since long and have recently threatened to demolish their settlement using JCB dozers.

Sada was born and brought up in the same area and does not want to leave his birthplace though.

“I was born and brought up here. I don’t want to leave this place for any reason, and protect Nepal’s territory and serve Nepali community,” Sada said.

There are 75 Musahar families living in the area for more than 4 generations now. These human pillars at the border that are protecting the border are now worried at the Indian BSF’s threats of demolishing the settlement.

Some 300 members of the Mushahar community are awaiting the government’s response to their call and help them overcome the atrocity of BSF and get some relief materiasl as lockdown has put their lives at stake.
