S. Korea confirms 19 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, death toll at 262



SEOUL: South Korea has confirmed 19 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.

Nine of them are local transmissions. So far, a total of 161 people have been infected from the Itaewon cluster of infections.

That makes the total number of confirmed cases 11-thousand and 37. With two additional deaths, the death toll now stands at 262.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 patients across the globe has topped 4.5 million as of Friday.

According to Johns Hopkins University, three quarters are from the U.S. and Europe. The global death toll stands at over 305-thousand.
