With three new cases, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally hits 276



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed three new coronavirus cases in Nepal taking the tally to 276.

Issuing a statement on Saturday morning, Joint Spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said that new cases have been reported in Kapilvastu district.

Among those infected are  men aged 25,34, and 44

The new cases were confirmed after their swabs tested positive for Coronavirus at Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Butwal.  Their health condition is said to be normal.

Earlier, on Saturday morning, six new cases were reported. Among those infected are three women aged 18, 25 and 28 and three men aged 28, 29 and 30.

They are from Bardiya, Sarlahi, Siraha, and Chitwan. The new cases were confirmed after their swabs tested positive for Coronavirus at National Public Health Laboratory, Teku.

Earlier, the number of people infected with the novel virus was 267 as of Friday evening.

The infected was a nine-year-old boy, a 10-year-old boy, a 23-year-old woman and a 47-year-old woman of Birgunj in Parsa, a 25-year-old man from Triyuga Municipality Udayapur, men aged 23, 36 and 34 years from Dang and a seven-year-old boy from Satungal, Kathmandu, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

On Friday morning, the tally had climbed to 258 after the country recorded nine more confirmed cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the newly infected were all men aged 37, 18, 20, 22, 25, 25, 27, 32, and 36.

Currently, 240 Coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country of which 36 have returned home after recovery.
