400 test negative through RDT in Birgunj



KATHMANDU: After the three Jamatis living in a mosque located in Birgunj Metropolis-2 were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19, the Ministry of Health and Population has geared up for the Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs).

So far, the Ministry has performed a test on 400 people through RTD which results have come negative.

Speaking at the regular press briefing on Thursday, Dr Bikash Devkota, Spokesperson at the Ministry said that the test of 400 people living in Birgunj Municipality’s ward no. 2 and 3 has resulted in negative in the RDT.

Similarly, the government has sealed all the mosques in Birgunj after three Jamatis were found infected with COVID-19 in the district.

The three had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation from March 1-15 in the Indian capital of New Delhi.

While one of the infected is from New Delhi, the two others are from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
