KATHMANDU: Nepal Army (NA) headquarters has started investigating two colonels of Nepal Army on the charge embezzling fund during their posting in Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya at Sallaghari in Bhaktapur.

Colonel Bhupal Man Adhikari and Lieutenant Colonel Dev Chhetri are under military scanner for their alleged involvement in misappropriating fund while procuring food-stuffs for the school.

A preliminary investigation shows they misappropriated fund and are being investigated by keeping them in a ‘line arrest’, NA sources said.

According to NA sources, they had allegedly sold food-stuffs meant for Mahavidyalaya to somewhere else while they were in important positions of the institute two years ago.

A ‘Court of Inquiry’ led by Brigadier General Pradeep Jung KC is looking into the case.

Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa has been investigating the procurement transaction done in the past under the campaign ‘Reserve Corruption’ following complaints about old issues linked with the NA.
