Memorandum to PM Oli demanding to resolve border dispute in Humla

SIMKOT: Central member of the Nepali Congress (NC) Jivan Bahadur Shahi representing the Province Assembly of Karnali Province has handed over a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Oli through the Chief District Officer of Humla to resolve the border dispute with China.

Shahi, who returned after monitoring the border area with China a few days ago, concluded that China had encroached on Nepali land and handed over a memorandum to the Prime Minister through CDO Chiranjeevi Giri.

Receiving the memorandum, CDO Giri said that the memorandum would be sent to the Prime Minister’s Office.

The report prepared by a parliamentary team led by Shahi after a field visit has concluded that China has encroached on Nepali land, despite denial from both China and the Government of Nepal.

China has also encroached some two kilometers of the section of a road built by Nepal from Gappudocha in the district, the report has said.

Shahi said the team carried out an 11-day study from Pillar-5 to Pillar-12 in which it was evident that China had encroached Nepali territory in the district of Humla.
