Gagan Thapa raps PM Oli for being ‘unsympathetic’

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress lawmaker Gagan Thapa has come down heavily on Prime Minister KP Oli, accusing him of being unsympathetic towards the sufferings of the people.

Lawmaker Thapa, who has been in home isolation since the last 13 days after testing positive for COVID-19, vented his ire on Prime Minister Oli saying that he is prioritizing his internal party disputes over the woes being faced by the citizens due to pandemic.

Posting a status on social networking sites, Thapa said, “The core problem of the people which they are facing currently due to pandemic has not touched the Prime Minister at all. He has done nothing except holding meetings with Dahal to resolve internal party disputes, the strife of Lumbini Province and Karnali Province and reshuffling the Council of Ministers over the last 13 days.”

Thapa said the people are suffering due to the lack of community isolation. Doctors have advised him to undergo PCR screening only after a few days since he had fever and cough on the 10th day.

Thapa has been in home isolation since that last 13 days after nine family members including his parents, wife and daughter tested positive for the virus.
