Kohalpur Municipality enforces lockdown till August 20

NEPALGUNJ: Citing spiking cases of coronavirus pandemic, Kohalpur Municipality has enforced a lockdown in the Municipality till August 20 effective from today.

According to the Press Advisor of Kohalpur Municipality, an all-party meeting held under the chairpersonship of Mayor Lut Bahadur Rawat has decided to enforce lockdown and get all offices, including the government offices, banks and financial institutions, trade and business closed till August 20.

As in the early days of March lockdown, essential services like the ones related with the supply of drinking water, health care services etc. shall be allowed to operate despite the lockdown.

Kohalpur Municipality has seen 56 coronavirus cases till date out of which 22 have returned home after recovery.

One person has succumbed to coronavirus here.

In the meantime, Kohalpur Chapter of the FNCCI has issued a press statement and protested against the decision to enforce lockdown and has appealed the government to consider the impact the abrupt shutting down of trade and commerce sector in long run.
