Nepal Medical College padlocked

KATHMANDU: The Independent Employees’ Union (IEU) has padlocked the administration section of the Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital protesting the administration’s decision to terminate employees working on contract basis.

The union said in a statement that it was ‘regrettable’ that the hospital’s contract staff had been fired.

Secretary of the union Umesh Karki informed that they padlocked the hospital administration after the latter did not implement their demands as per the written agreement between the hospital management and the union.

He said, “We have been forced to protest after the official information that the contract service employees working in the hospital have been fired from their jobs since July 15.”
