Indian Army, PLA commit to complete disengagement

NEW DLEHI: The Indian Army says India and China will remain committed to the objective of disengagement.

This was decided at the Corps Commander-level talks in Ladakh on Wednesday.

Issuing a statement on Thursday, Indian Army spokesperson Col Aman Anand said India and China are engaged in discussions through military and diplomatic channels to address the situation along the LAC, Indian media reports have said.

The statement added that commanders from PLA and Indian Army had a meeting at Chushul, on Indian side, for the fourth round of talks on 14 July.

It said that both the sides remain committed to the objective of complete disengagement.

The statement added that the Indian military conveyed a clear message to the Chinese side during the talks that status quo ante should be restored in eastern Ladakh.
