Govt has no policies to inhibit industrial activities: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said the government has no policies to be against industrialists and industrial activities.

Responding to the queries raised by lawmakers during his address to the parliament today, Oli clarified that the government is not against industrialist nor does it have any policies to curb industrial activities.

“The government has no policies to curb industrial activities. But, it will not sell government properties to the private sector for a scrap value and make the country bankrupt,” asserted Oli.

Answering the questions regarding the constitution amendment,  Oli said it will be amended in line with the Constitution. “This constitution was promulgated through Constituent Assembly elected by the people. The government cannot intervene in the court and will always respect the independent judiciary.”

He went on to say that the Nepal is poor but no one will die of hunger during the government’s five-year term. ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali’ is the goal set by the government, said Oli.”We are striving for it.” However, no Nepalis will die of hunger,” said Oli. “Famine has ended in the country even though it is not rich.”

Clarifying the confusion surrounding the quarantine of Nepali evacuees from China, Oli clarified that the government is not bringing Nepalis infected with coronavirus. “If they are infected, China will allow not allow them to be evacuated.” “We will quarantine them for 14 days in case they get infected on their back home”.

Regarding inflation, Oli boasted that the inflation has come down by 3%. It was 9% previously.

Oli said, there were several tuins like a cobweb previously while traveling from Naubise to Narayangadh. “I had told my colleagues to take photos of tuins so that they could show them to their posterity,” Oli said in sarcastically humorous tone.  They have been replaced, now, said Oli.

Oli apprised the parliament of the achievements made by the government on the completion of two years on Saturday.
