Suspension of DSP GC acquitted in Nirmala Pant case lifted



KATHMANDU: The suspension of Deputy Superintendent of Police of Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) Angur GC has been lifted.

GC was suspended while investigating the Nirmala Pant rape and murder cases.

Police Spokesperson SSP Kuber Kadayat confirmed that the Home Ministry had sent a letter for lifting the suspension on Thursday.

DSP GC’s suspension was lifted after the Council of Ministers amended the police regulations and paved the way for lifting the suspension.

The Kanchanpur District Court had acquitted eight police officers, including DSP GC for their alleged involvement in torturing suspects and destroying evidence.
