KATHMANDU: The Code of Conduct for Police Employees and the Nepal Police Action Plan, 2077 BS have been made public by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shailesh Thapa Chhetri.
Announcing the action plan and code of conduct, IGP Chhetri instructed police personnel to work professionally.
Emphasizing on the need to follow up the action plan and code of conduct, IGP Chhetri assured that it would help in improving the image of the police.
It is mentioned in the code of conduct that the police personnel must treat the service recipients without any kind of prejudice while providing services.
Likewise, they have to work in such a way as to show a high level of ethics that enhances the dignity of the police organization and the office.
It states that police personnel meeting employees of embassies and representatives of national and international non-governmental organizations without permission will have to face action.
The new code of conduct prohibits liking, commenting, sharing, tagging, tweeting and re-tweeting activities that disrupt national integrity, incite communal riots, promote terrorist activities, disrupt peace and security and affect criminal investigations.
