Man from Kapilvastu succumbs to coronavirus in Butwal

KATHMANDU: A COVID-19 patient from Kapilvastu died while undergoing treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal on Saturday morning.

According to Corona Focal Person at District Health Office, Kapilvastu, Kumar Thapa, a 40-year-old man hailing from Mayadevi-7 breathed his last at around 4 am this morning.

He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after showing symptoms similar to the coronavirus.

Thapa said that the man had returned from India some four months ago and had been living in the district since then. The man had tested negative for the coronavirus after his return from India, he said.

The man tested positive for the pandemic virus posthumously.

With the death, Nepal’s death toll from the pandemic has reached 102. However, the Ministry of Health and Population is yet to confirm the death officially.
