KATHMANDU: Private schools in the country have announced that they would close all online classes from July 16 (Thursday).
The umbrella organizations of private schools, Private & Boarding School’s Organization Nepal (PABSON) and National Private & Boarding School’s Organization Nepal (N-PABSON) on Wednesday jointly decided to suspend alternative teaching and learning activities from Thursday.
They have also announced unpaid leave for teachers and staff, according to PABSON chairman Tikaram Puri and N-PABSON chairman Rituraj Sapkota.
In a joint statement, both the private school organizations have said that the school administration will be opened only after getting the permission from the government.
In addition, the private schools have stated that the facilities including salary of teachers and staff will be provided gradually after the operation of the school.
According to PABSON AND N-PABSON, some 3 million students are studying in private schools across the country and about 250,000 teachers and staff are employed.
