COVID-19 spreads to 22 districts in Nepal: Health Ministry



KATHMANDU: The Health Ministry said that all the COVID-19 infected persons are in normal health conditions.

Currently, 211 are being treated in various hospitals in Nepal. 35 have already been discharged after recovery.

On Thursday, Nepal reported an additional three cases taking the tally to 246. Among them, 198 persons are male while 45 are female.

Speaking at the regular press briefing on Thursday, Dr. Bikash Devkota, Spokesperson at the Ministry said that infections have been seen in 22 districts including three districts in Province 1, seven districts in Province 2, four districts in Bagmati Province, two districts in Gandaki Province, five districts in Province 5, two districts in Sudurpachim Province.

Similarly, 272 people have been kept in isolation.

Meanwhile, Nepal has conducted 3,371 tests in the last 24 hours.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Devkota, 22,664 tests have been conducted so far through the PCR method while 62, 327 tests have been done so far through the RDT.

Dr. Devkota said that 14,007 RDT kits and 7,000 pieces VTM, PPE have been sent to Province 1, 2,5, Karnali Province, and Sudurpaschim Province via airways and lands.
