Nepalis in Germany condemn Indian encroachment

BERLIN: Different organizations of migrant Nepalis active in Germany condemned the Indian move of constructing roads illegally, arguing the historical facts, documents, evidence, and treaty have proved that Limpiyadhura, Lipulek, and Kalapani are Nepal’s territory.

Issuing a joint press release today, the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Migrant Nepalese Unity Forum, Nepali People Liaison Committee, and Nepali People Progressive Forum, Germany, said recent incidents have proved that India has been encroaching Nepali border continuously.

The press release read that the behavior shown by India towards a good neighbor by neglecting the diplomatic initiative taken by Nepal to resolve border dispute was not appropriate.

Demanding to immediately issue Nepal’s map as per the Sugauli Treaty of 1816, the organizations stressed the need for taking the issue of border dispute to the international level.

Unity among all Nepalis across the world for the protection of nationality was the need of the hour, reads the statement.

Meanwhile, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Austria has submitted a memorandum at the Indian Embassy in Vienna of Austria, protesting the Indian government’s move of encroaching upon Nepali territory.
