Heath workers at TUTH undergo COVID-19 test

KATHMANDU: Swab samples of 38 health workers including doctors and nurses have been collected for the COVID-19 test at Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) after a 6-year-old girl tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday morning.

According to Dr. Santa Kumar Das, Chairman at COVID-19 Management Committee of TUTH, all the 38 doctors, nurses and other staffers who were in contact with the girl will test for the COVID-19 through PCR technology.

They have been kept in a quarantine center established at Ganeshman Singh building.

Likewise, the infected girl has been transferred to the neuro ward where five patients are undergoing treatment.

Originally from Kapilvastu, the infected minor girl has been kept in the isolation.

Meanwhile, a neuro ward has been sealed where she is receiving treatment.
