COVID-19 cases climb to 246 in Nepal after one more case reported



KATHMANDU: The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 246 in Nepal after a new case was reported on Thursday.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a 49-year-old man has been diagnosed with the novel virus.

The swab of the newly infected man who hails from Debchuli municipality-12, Nawalparasi was tested at Bharatpur Hospital, Dr Samir Adhikari, Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry, said in a press note.

His health condition is said to be normal.

Earlier, today morning, the Ministry reported two new Coronavirus cases taking the number of infection cases to 245.

The infected were 32 year-old man from Chandragiri municipality, Kathmandu and six-year old girl from  Kapilvastu, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Their swabs were tested at National Public Health Laboratory, Teku.

The infection cases from Coronavirus had reached 243 in Nepal on Wednesday after 24 more persons diagnosed with the novel virus in a single day.

Twelve among those infected were from Rupandehi, eight from Kapilvastu, three from Parsa, and one from Nawalparasi. They were 20 men and four women ranging from four years to 74 years old.

Currently, 211 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country while 35 have retunred home after recovery.
