3 foreign returnees in Kavre, Dhading test positive in rapid test

KATHMANDU: Three foreign returnees in Kavre and Dhading districts have tested positive for coronavirus in rapid diagnostic tests.

In Kavre, two foreign returnees, one from India and another from Dubai, have come out with coronavirus positive result in the recently conducted rapid diagnostic test.

According to Khazenchi Bahadur Lama, the Chairperson of Ward No. 5 of Bethanchowk Rural Municipality, a young man of 28 who returned from India on March 21 had corona virus positive result in the rapid test conducted recently.

“We have sent him to Dhulikhel Hospital for further check,” Lama added.

According to him, the young man, along with three others, had come from Goa India . However, his two friends’ report came corona negative.

Similarly, in another case, a young man of Mandan Deupur Municipality is also referred to Dhulikhel Hospital in suspicion of coronavirus.

“The medics thought the rapid test result of this young man of 21 was also positive and sent him to Dhulikhel hospital for confirmation,” Dil Bahadur Tamang, the chairperson of Ward No. 3 said.

“We felt like positive so we have sent him to Dhulikhel Hospital,” Lama added.

The young man had stayed at home for two days and later sent to municipality’s quarantine. They are planning to conduct test of other four members of the youth’s family.

Likewise, a man who returned back to Nepal from South Korea on March 3 has tested positive for COVID-19 in a rapid test.

After diagnosed with positive, the man from Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality has been kept in self-quarantine.

The health division of the rural municipality is planning to send him to the Kathmandu.

The rural municipality has tested 35 persons of all the foreign returnees on Tuesday.
