Complaint filed at CIAA against DIG Dr. Aasha Singh

KATHMANDU: A complaint has been lodged at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) against DIG Dr. Aasha Singh of Nepal Police.

The complaint was lodged against her at the anti-graft body accusing her of putting on a badge of UN peacekeeping mission without participating which is punishable as per the Corruption Prevention Act.

The act states that public servant falsely displaying any symbol, dress or mark relating to a position that s/he doesn’t hold is liable to a punishment of imprisonment for one year to two years along with a fine of Rs 50,000 to Rs 100,000, depending on the degree of the offense committed.

Dr. Singh, deployed at Nepal Police Hospital was recently recommended for promotion to AIG towards the technical sector. Singh is a senior gynecologist.
