Bangladeshi Ambassador Chowdhury calls on VP Pun



KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Bangladeshi ambassador to Nepal Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury paid a courtesy call on Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun at the latter’s office Green House in the capital today.

According to the office of the Vice President, the VP Pun congratulated Bangladesh for the progress it has achieved after independence. VP Pun reminded that Nepal was the 7th nation supporting Bangladesh’s independence. Vice President Pun further said that the Bangladeshi President’s visit to Nepal has further enhanced bilateral ties.

On the occasion, Vice president Pun also expressed the confidence that the bilateral ties would be further strengthened during the tenure of the new ambassador. According to sources, VP Pun opined to work together in commerce, tourism, and infrastructure development.

Similarly, Ambassador Chowdhury thanked Nepal for its continuous support to Bangladesh after its independence. Ambassador shared his president’s pleasure over the respect shown to him during the Nepal visit.

He further added that Bangladesh wanted to co-work in the commerce, energy, and tourism sectors. He said Nepal was the first destination for Bangladeshis for adventure tourism.

Ambassador Chowdhury shared that his country wanted to purchase electricity as Bangladesh was committed to using clean energy. On the occasion, the ambassador also extended VP Pun an invitation to visit Bangladesh at an appropriate time.
