Movie theaters to come into operation from Dec 25 sans govt’s nod

KATHMANDU: Nepal Motion Picture Association has decided to operate movie theaters from December 25.

A statement issued by the Association’s President Madhusudan Pradhan on Monday said that the decision was taken as the government was not interested in opening movie theaters.

The statement said that the movie theaters will run abiding to the health safety standards set by the World Health Organization and has also decided to stage a phase-wise protest with various demands.

The government had halted the operation of the movie theaters due to the coronavirus epidemic.

However, it has not decided to open the movie hall due to the risk of COVID-19 infection.
