Energy Minister visits Load Dispatch Center



KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barshaman Pun visited the Load Dispatch Center (LDC) of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) this evening to take stock of power demand and supply across the country.

Minister Pun along with Officiating Chief of NEA Hitendra Dev Shakya visited the LDC at Syuchatar for observation of power supply in the country. The NEA records the highest level of power consumption on Laxmipuja of Tihar.

“I visited there to take the first-hand information about power demand and supply and provide needed instructions to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the time of Tihar so all would have an access to power to observe Laxmipuja in light,” Pun shared.

Minister Pun also appealed to the country people to mark the Tihar festival with confidence saying that there would be no power outage.

Likewise, the NEA has written to the chiefs of production, distribution and transmission centers across the country not to leave their duty station in the time of Tihar.

According to the NEA, the peak demand for power this evening was 1,200 MW.
