KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has approved the English version of Nepal’s updated map that includes lands encroached by India.

The map prepared by the Department of Survey that was submitted before the Ministry for approval was passed by Land Management Minister Padma Kumar Aryal on Friday.

The government on May 20 had released an updated political and administrative map of Nepal incorporating Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, and Lipu Lekh.

The Ministry said that the English version of the map was published to inform the global community about Nepal’s updated map.

Minister Aryal said that the publication of the English version of the map has paved the path for sending it to the United Nations, diplomatic missions and the entire international community.

The English version of the map will be sent to the United Nations, various diplomatic missions and the international community through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Prakash Joshi, Director General of the Department of Survey.
