Local level’s recommendation mandatory to enter Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO) Kathmandu has decided to make people’s entry to Kathmandu more stringent in the days to come.

Issuing a press release on Sunday, the DAO Kathmandu informed that people aspiring to come to Kathmandu are equipped with mandatory recommendation from the respective local authorities.

“Any person willing to enter Kathmandu should first get the consent letter for entry from the respective municipalities of their residence. They are also required to apply to the District Administration Office of the district they are living in,” the DAO release says.

“The DAOs, after considering various factors like the reason to travel to Kathmandu, the risk factors related, etc, will provide the pass required for travel,” it said.

Citing that the odd-even system of travelling has already enforced in the Valley, the DAO has stopped issuing passes to vehicles.

As per the new provision, a person going outside Kathmandu Valley also should produce similar travel documents.
