NCP Secretariat to discuss MCC today

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is holding a Secretariat meeting of the party on Sunday to discuss the widely-talked-about Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

The meeting has been slated for 4 pm this evening.

It should be recalled that the NCP has entrusted the Parliament to decide the fate of MCC.

The NCP had formed a task force led by senior leader Khanal and including Foreign Minister Gyawali and standing committee member Rawal as members on February 2 to study MCC. The task force later said it should not be endorsed without amendment.

The Nepali Congress, too, wants MCC to be endorsed immediately from the Parliament.

It should also be recalled that the US has already clarified the issue saying that the MCC is not part of any military affairs.
