Finance Minister calls for increasing export

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada has said that as investment from the government alone was not possible to bring prosperity to the nation, the participation of the private sector was inevitable.

Minister of State for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Moti Lal Dugad said the government was doing its best to promote an industrial and professional atmosphere in the country.

Chamber President Rajesh Kazi Shrestha said lack of concrete policy and program of the government to promote export, scarcity of raw materials, poor infrastructure network, administrative hassles and lack of skills human resources are challenges to minimizing trade deficit of the country.

The chamber brings together 86 institutional associations and 21 sub-national chambers of commerce and industry.
