Deuba will be stopped from heading NC again: Shashanka Koirala

BIRTAMOD: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Shashanka Koirala has said president Sher Bahadur Deuba will be stopped from becoming the party’s chief again through the 14th General Convention.

He said they will forge cooperation with the Krishna Prasad Sitaula-led group to stop Deuba at the party’s helm.

Speaking a press meet organized on Monday, leader Koirala stressed the need of an alliance between the groups led by Ram Chandra Poudel and Krishna Prasad Sitaula for changing the incumbent leadership of the party.

“Deuba is always behind running his faction in the party. So, he can’t be given another chance to lead the party,” he said.

Koirala said he is a candidate for the party’s presidency.

“I am in the race to become the party’s president,” he said, adding that leaders Poudel, Sitaula, Shekhar Koirala, Prakashman Singh and Ram Sharan Mahat too are aspirants for the post.

He said that they will forge an agreement one of the names and move ahead accordingly.

Leader Koirala said that Deuba should correct the decision he took through the central working committee meeting of the party through a majority votes.
