Nepal Army officer cadet gets prestigious ‘Int’l Sword of Honor’ in UK



KATHMANDU: A Nepal Army (NA) second lieutenant, Peter Thapa has been awarded with prestigious “International Sword of Honor” for his performance in Britain’s Royal Military Academy Training in Sandhurst, United Kingdom.

Nepal Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Santosh Ballav Poudel said Second Lieutenant Thapa has been awarded for the best performance among the foreign candidates who were undergoing officer cadet training at the UK’s military training academy.

According to him, Thapa received an Overseas Sword for his best performance during the training.

This, observers say, is the first time in around 20 years that a Nepali trainee has received this award.
