7 foreigners held for participating in demo (with photos)



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested seven foreigners at Maitighar Mandala for taking part in a demonstration on Saturday.

The arrested are from China, USA, France, Canada and Australia, according to a senior police official.

They were held with anti-government placards while they were participating in the protest programs.

Foreigners cannot take part in any demonstrations organized for internal issues of the country as per the constitution of Nepal.

A huge number of security personnel have been deployed in the demonstration site.

Youths have been staging protest programs against the government for its failure to control and prevent coronavirus pandemic and for its poor performance.

Irate youths had staged demonstrations at Basantapur on Friday and at Baluwatar on Thursday.
