Baglung to host international sculpture workshop from Feb 17

BAGLUNG: An International Modern Sculpture Workshop is taking place at Teuwa of Galkot municipality-5 from February 17.

Galkot Art Academy, organizer of the event, said preparations for the event are on full swing. The event is being organized in a bid to establish an open sculpture museum and research center of an international standard in Baglung.

Japanese artist Jun Ichiro Sugimoto will attend the event.

A total of 15 sculptors, including 10 foreigners, will be taking part in the event.

Academy chair Purna Bahadur Rana informed that national flags of 11 countries have already been placed in the venue.

The artists will spend some 15 days at Teuwa to explore their skills.

Likewise, another group of 10 assistant artists — five from Nepal and five from abroad — will also join the event to assist them.

While Om Khatri, Praveen Kumar Shrestha, Rajan Kafle, Buddha Chaudhary and Raju Pithakoti will be participating in the event from Nepal, foreign participants will be from Italy, India, China, France, Canada, Taiwan, Israel, Brazil, Ukraine and Japan.
