KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) is conducting hearings on the nomination of Ambassadors-designate Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Lok Dharshan Regmi and Dr Nirmal Kumar Bishwokarma on Thursday.

Taking part in the PHC hearing, proposed ambassador Dr Khatiwada said he would prioritize economic diplomacy during his tenure as an ambassador.

The hearings on the other proposed ambassadors Regmi and Bishwokarma are underway.

The PHC had adjourned the rescheduled date of hearing from November 1 to 12 after the complainants did not show up at the meeting.

Earlier, on October 1, the cabinet had recommended Khatiwada, Regmi and Bishwokarma as the Nepali envoys to the United States, the United Kingdom and South America.

The PHC invited the complainants to discuss their complaints on November 1.

Three complaints had been registered against Khatiwada, one complaint against Regmi while no complaints were filed against Bishwokarma.
