Worker dies when crane rope snaps in Dolakha



DOLAKHA: A worker died today when a crane rope snapped in the under-construction Suri Hydropower in Dolakha.

Mahesh KC, 31, of Panauti municipality-6 in Kavrepalanchowk district died in the accident that occurred at Gaurishanker rural municipality-5, Gurumfi.

District Police Office spokesperson Police Inspector Resham Bohora said, “KC died when he fell down with the crane box after its rope snapped “.

KC had fallen off the crane down 35 metres. He sustained injuries in his head and other body parts and died on the spot, the District Police Office Dolakha said.

An investigation into the accident is underway and his body is being taken to the district headquarters Charikot for post-mortem, the police office shared.
