14 succumb to COVID-19, Nepal’s death toll hits 336



KATHMANDU: A total of 14 COVID-19 patients succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 336, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Saturday.

According to the Ministry, 11 men and three women died of the coronavirus.

A 43-year-old man in Sunsari, men aged 51 and 54 years in Kathmandu, 72 and 38 years in Bhaktapur, 61 years in Chitwan, 85 years in Syangja, 45 years in Gorkha, 51 years in Kaski, 60 and 40 years in Rupandehi died of the coronavirus.

Likewise, a 78-year-old woman in Kaski, a 76-year-old woman in Kathmandu and 76-year-old woman in Tanahun succumbed to the pandemic.

Nepal had recorded five COVID-19 deaths on Thursday. A 40-year-old woman in Morang, men aged 65 years in Mahottari, 45 years in Dhanusha, 70 years in Kathmandu and 55 years in Nawalparasi had succumbed to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,201 people have been diagnosed positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 53,120 with the new cases, said Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, at a regular COVID-19 Update.

So far, 37,524 people have been discharged across the country after recovery. The recovery rate stands at 70.6 percent.
