26 police personnel diagnosed with COVID-19 in Chitwan

CHITWAN: As many as 26 police personnel have been infected with the coronavirus in a ward police office in Chitwan district.

The ward police office, Narayangadh has been sealed after 26 out of 41 police officials working at the ward office tested positive for the coronavirus.

As many as 22 police officials were diagnosed with the COVID-19 during tests conducted at laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital in the past 24 hours.

According to Surya Bahadur Thapa, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Chitwan, four including the chief of ward police office had contracted coronavirus last week.

With this, the number of police personnel infected with coronavirus has reached 39 in Chitwan district.

Five among those infected have returned home after recovery while 34 are doing time in isolation wards.
