Nepal’s tally rises to 24,432 as 484 more test positive for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Nepal reported 484 fresh coronavirus cases in the 24 hours, taking the national tally to 24,432, Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the new cases were confirmed in 10,481 tests carried out in laboratories across the country.

The new cases were detected in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Nuwakot, Sindhuli, Baitadi, Bara, Chitwan, Tanahun, Bara, Kailali, Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Kavre, Parsa, Dang, Banke, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Jajarkot, Kapilvastu, Khotang, Palpa, Dhading, Kaski, Syangja, Argakhachi, Rukum (East), Salyan, Surkhet, Dailekh, Rukum (West), Doti, Darchula, Kanchanpur, Jhapa, Morang, Rautahat, Sunsari, Ilam, Taplejung, Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusa, Mahottari, Rupandehi, Sarlahi and Gorkha.

A total of 16,728 have recovered across the country so far after 64 discharged from hospitals and isolation centers in the last 24 hours, he shared. The recovery rate now stands at 68.4 percent.

At present, 7,613 people are in isolation and 14,846 are in various quarantine facilities.

Nepal has reported 8 new deaths. With this, the death toll has reached 91, he said.
