19 more COVID-19 cases reported in Surkhet

SURKHET: As many as 19 people have reported to have tested positive for coronavirus in Birendranagar, Surkhet on Wednesday.

According to Chet Nidhi Wagle, the Chief of District Public Health Office, Surkhet, the tests carried out at the Surkhet-based Province Hospital, Avian Disease Investigation Laboratory, 19 swabs tested coronavirus positive on Wednesday.

He informed that 8 of the newly-infected persons are India-returnees languishing at a quarantine facility in Surkhet whereas 6 tested positive during contact tracing.

Similarly, 5 out of the 19 cases are from the samples collected from the community.

A few days back, 4 staffers at the government offices, 3 workers from Parsa and 2 hair dressers in Surkhet had tested coronavirus positive.
