Three killed in Doti bus accident identified



DOTI: Three people who died in a bus accident at Phulaut in Purbichauki rural municipality-1 on Wednesday morning in the district have been identified.

The deceased are 60-year-old Padam Saud of Accham Bannigadi-3, Tikaram BK, 35, of Chaurpati-7, Marku and Lachhma BK of Narayanpur-4, Kailali.

Three people died and 32 others sustained injuries in a bus accident at Phulaut in Purbichauki rural municipality-1 in the district. The incident took place at 5 am today.

According to Police Inspector Karna Bahadur Bohara of District Police Office, Doti, the accident took place  after a passenger bus, Na 6 Kha 2529, heading to Achham carrying India returnees from Kailali veered off and fell some 30 meters down the road.

Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force carred out rescue operations, District Police Office, Doti.

Preparations are being made to take the injured to District Hospital, Doti, informed SP Janak Raj Pandey, Chief of DPO, Doti.

“We have rescued the injured. Many people have been injured. We are making preparations to take them the District Hospital, Doti,” said Pandey.

The bus had fallen some 30 meters down the road.
